Sinden BB91 is it possible to "extract" games/configs to work in RP4.8

I have managed to get some lightgun games working in 4.8 but I want to "seamless" functionality that Sinden have created in the BB9.1 image. However I have a lot of customisations (LEDSpicer, artwork, overlays, bgm, etc. etc.) I want to incorporate what Sinden have done into my build but I do not think its possible due to some of the emulators used in BB9.1 not being compatible with 4.8. BB9.1 is downrev too which can be problematic later on.
BB9.1 the driver works. The version I am using (2.05) A & B buttons stop working.Short of having two SD cards and switching between, I would much rather build this properly into my current image.
Two questions:- Is it possible given the incompatibility of some of the cores (I could be wrong on this point)?
- Has anyone got the majority of lightgun games working with the current release of RP?
