      Hello everyone,
      i'm trying to install Retropie on a virtual machine with Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS (Server), i did all the procedure to install it but when i type "emulationstation" in the command line it gives me this error:

      lv10: Error initializing SDL!
      Unable to open /dev/input/mouse0
      lv10: Renderer failed to initialize!
      lv10: Window failed to initialize!

      I searched online but i couldn't find this "mouse0" error anywhere...
      I hope someone of you can help me cause i really don't know what to do.

        Run EmulationStation from a desktop environment/desktop session, not from the command line.

          @Gabbo999 you need to install a desktop environment to run it on Ubuntu on a PC (or VM).

            So ubuntu server version is not compatible with Retropie/EmulationStation, i have to install the desktop version...

              @Gabbo999 you can install the desktop environment packages from the server install. Eg. Installing the ubuntu-desktop/xubuntu-desktop package (or another of your choice)
