[SOLVED] Remove Pulseaudio and revert back to ALSA
-
Pi4b 2gb ram
Retropie 4.8I had installed pulseaudio with the goal of using bluetooth audio, but now I want to remove pulseaudio and use ALSA (with an aux speaker)
Reason: I found out that pulseaudio uses a lot of CPU and reduces emulator performance
I had tried to remove it by using
sudo apt purge pulseaudio
After that I changed the audio output to 3.5mm
But I dont get audio output through the 3.5mm jack !
I was really frustrated so I again installed pulse and the audio works !Is there a complete process in which i can fully remove pulse and revert back to ALSA ? (with the goal of using 3.5mm audio)

Try to remove the pulseaudio with this way ;
RetroPie-Setup > Configuration/tools > rasbinatools > remove some unneeded packages.After that restart the system and change the audio from :
RetroPie-Setup > audio > Headphones .
and restart the EmulationStation.
If you press that start button while you are in Emulationstation menu the sound settings must be:
Audio card : Default
Audio Device: HDMI.I hope the above steps to solve your problem.
