[SOLVED] Previous wifi network not connecting "Your IP is: (unknown)"

RetroPie Version Used: 4.8.5

I was removing games from a custom collection (sorting light gun games for a Dolphin bar) when a text box appeared behind a game video preview. The preview was blocking the text, I couldn't read the message and there was no way to navigate out so I had to power down. This happened again after reboot. I decided to just proceed with transferring roms over the network per usual, but my computer could not connect to the Pi. I checked Show IP and received the message in the image. I tried to reconnect to the wifi network previously used, but it will not connect. Please help! If I connect to an ethernet, will that restore the IP address to transfer over the network? I'd of course prefer to solve the wifi issue. Thanks for any guidance!

@djdq13 Here is the message that appeared behind the video preview. I can see what happened now. Where do I go from here to restore wifi and the IP address? And what else should I check for that might be damaged? Thanks!

@djdq13 Can you try to restart the Router and try again?
As for the EmulationStation crash, if you continue to receive it, open a new topic please and add the necessary info: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

@windg No luck. Unable to connect. If I can connect with the Ethernet and that restores my pi's ip so I can transfer over the network, I'm fine with it. I'm thinking the crash and loss of Wi-Fi connectivity are somehow related. Every other device is connected with signals per usual on the wifi and there was no issue until after the crash occured

This happened to me too, but after restarting the router and pi it was possible to connect to the network.
Connectivity problems with gamεpads can cause EmulationStation to crash, it's the most common cause, but i don't know if this can affect and the wifi. Try to boot the system without peripherals to see if it's connect. -
@windg that did it! Back online. Now to figure out the culprit, which narrows it down to the dolphin bar, since that was the only thing different. Thanks so much!
