@hawkes_84 im guessing about a year,
the devs have not gotten their pi5s yet, from last i heard

but it might be sooner since there seems a bunch of other people who got pi5s going at it already from the other posts

      RPi3B+ / 200GB/ RetroPie v4.5.14, RPi4 Model B 4gb / 256gb / RetroPie 4.8.2
      RPi5 4gb / 512gb / RetroPie 4.8.9 -Basic
      Maintainer of RetroPie-Extra .

I don't expect a stable version for the next 9 months. Not only because the developers need a lot of free time, but more importantly the Bookworm operating system still needs a lot of work, and this needs patient.
But we are lucky, as the most parts of RetroPie are working very well already with Pi5.

Imagine how far along development would be by now if pre-release Pi5 boards were given to actual developers instead of derpy youtubers who could only show the world how well the pi5 handled things the pi4 could already do.

Did you try to install RetroPie on top of Bookworm LIte ? Most things are working fine.

@Shadow666 Everything runs slowly and the sound is very choppy with recalbox? Surely it can't be throttling the cpu

What games are you running? Everything runs great bar N64 atm with the 9.2 release on the site. If you have a patreon account you can get the latest beta where n64 runs better. They even have killer instint arcade version at full speed with Mame 2003.

I tested fbneo and they seem to be running a very old core, they are missing a lot of features which are on the official build.

Recalbox support seems to be focused on French which is a pain as it is not a language I am good at.
