Nintendo Switch Online SNES Controller Connected but no Inputs
-
SOLVED
I'm pretty new to Retro Pie and using Linux based software however when it comes to connecting my controller I am completely lost. I already installed dkms-hid-nintendo and Joycond following the tutorial on connecting Switch Controllers however when I tried to register inputs on the Configure Inputs screen, it stated no controllers connected. I got it to work once around right after I connected it but when I tried reconnecting it after a shutdown it would not connect any more. The Bluetooth is connected for sure and I tried disconnecting and reconnecting it with no success. Should I just re-flash Retro Pie and start from scratch or should I try something else? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried it wired? Do the lights start "blinking side to side" when you plug it? At that moment, you have to press both L + R buttons, to pair the controller to your system.
Its a necessity of joycond to identify and separate dual joycons vs single ones.
If it works wired, then you can try to connect it again using bluetooth. Remember that you have to pair it, every time you connect it to your system. -
@Protocultor I just tried that and the controller does do the light flash from side to side continuously when it is connected VIA Bluetooth. When I go into Bluetooth settings it is shown there but when I try to configure the inputs it says no gamepads detected. When I wired it it still didn't work. I am using a Raspberry Pi 3b if that helps.

Try installing the hid-nx drivers instead, the
hid-nintendo
is mainly meant for Switch/Joycons controllers. -
@mitu After trying to fight installing things for the past hour, I am so glad to say it worked! Thank you!

After trying a few times, and it crashed my pi, it finally just worked, and I was able to map the buttons in emulationstation. The light will always move from left to right at the bottom of the pad, but it seems to work fine (for now).
