RetroPie doesn't launch any game

Hello everyone, since last night, I've been struggling with RetroPie. I've set it up on my Raspberry Pi 3b+, and when I try to launch a game, it seems to start but then returns to the game selection screen. This happens with any ROM and any emulator. I've even tried changing RetroPie versions, but it doesn't make a difference. There are no errors in the log file.
I also try with
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade -
