ATARI 800 standaloneEMU exits only with a keyboard

I need help.
I looked in the back end of the ATARI 800 standalone emu to remap an exit to my controller.
seems it's the keyboard key F9 on retro-piehas anyone mapped F9 to work on a button to exit a game?
I know the retroarch has exit but also doesn't have mouse support like the standalone version, plus more games seem to load in the standalone version.. is there a fix for exit on a controller? thanks.
