Hi, Im just setting up my Retropi for the first time and have an issue running ROMs from it when it is not either connected to the USB drive with the ROMS or the wifi, if I added them from there.

What I want is a portable Pi that can run 4 player games (any recommendations welcomed), so that I can take it with me and play in various locations. I therefore dont want to waste a USB port for running the roms and will be on different wifif networks (if any at all).

Can I save the roms to the SD card that has the Retropi setup up on it to do this?

      Much thanks in advance

@Spamdan all of the methods detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Transferring-Roms/ involve saving the roms to the SD card.

You are getting "copying" roms from a USB drive confused with "running" roms from a USB drive: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive/
