Controller fails with PCSX2
-
Pi Model or other hardware: HP HP EliteBook 840 G8 Notebook PC / 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-1145G7 @ 2.60GHz × 8 / Mesa Intel® Xe Graphics (TGL GT2)
Power Supply used: N/A
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest):Where do I find this? I don't see an "about" in the menu. But I did just set this up from the retropie website about two weeks Built From: Downloaded from the website. Installed on top of Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS
USB Devices connected: None
Controller used: 8BitDo SN30 Pro
Error messages received: None
Emulator: PCSX2
How to replicate the problem: I only have one rom for PS2 - SSX Tricky. The controller works for all the other emulators, SNES, NES, Commodore 64, Atari etc.Once the game starts the intro video begins to play. If I press escape on my keyboard I get into an emulator menu and my controller works in there.
Happy to provide any additional information.

@retepam Perhaps your controller isn't supported by PCSX2... Most of the other emulators in RetroPie are powered by RetroArch. RetroPie auto-configures RetroArch to use your preferred gamepad layout via a configuration file. Since PCSX2 is for libretro cores it does not use this config file. Try entering PCSX2's menu via your keyboard and see if there's an option to configure your controller. Also, you might want to try asking this question on the PCSX2 forum (https://forums.pcsx2.net)... They might know what to do about your problem.

For PCSX2 you need to configure the controller in emulator's settings, there's no auto-configuration performed for
pcsx2
as it is for libretro cores. -
Thank you both.
Your comments lead me to explore the emulator settings more and I found that it was set the keyboard for control. As soon as I set it to controller all the settings mapped correctly.
