The volume is not saved in emulationstation audio settings
-
The emulation works perfectly for me but in "sound settings" in the "emulationstation" menu the volume is not saved (it goes back to 0) and therefore you cannot hear it, I have tried starting without a remote control and then plugging it in (even several controls) and nothing. Any solution please?

@abj I hope this is the right way

Is the
hyperx sound cloud
an USB sound card/adapter or just a pair of headphones ? If the 'adapter' is connected via headphones, did you choose the Audio output in the Audio settings in RetroPie ? -
@mitu SOLVED!
Find your desired card with:
cat /proc/asound/cards
and then create /etc/asound.conf with the following entries:defaults.pcm.card 1
defaults.ctl.card 1After read this post:

Find your desired card with:
This is similar to the audio settings menu's configuration, but using a custom file and not the system one.
-
@mitu With the retropie menu it was impossible for me, believe me, I selected it and it didn't take it.

Not sure what didn't take means, I assume it hasn't worked after you selected Headphones as output ? Or maybe you got an error after the selection ? Can you post the contents of the file
/etc/alsa/conf.d/99-retropie.conf
, where RetroPie saves the audio settings ? -
@mitu my dir /etc/alsa/conf.d/ is empty :|
-
Are you really sure that you've used the Audio setup in RetroPie and not the one from
raspi-config
?
Did you install over RaspiOS Lite or some other image ? We don't explicitely support PINN, but I'm guessing it installs the Raspbian/RaspiOS version from the Raspberry Pi servers. -
@mitu Yes, I used it, finally in the last attempt before getting it, it was there where I configured it, but previously saving the configuration did not work for me, it always set the default HDMI or that's what I think
-
I didn't quite get the gist of it - did it work or not ?
-
@mitu yes finally works! thanks so much for your determination and interest in helping
