Unable to load PSX ROMs
-
Hi,
I have a RetroPie 4 with a 128gb micro sd card installed.
I’ve downloaded ROMs and installed onto the retro pie and can view them on the menu but when I try to load the game I’m met with this error message.
*Could not parse settings file! No document element found.
Error parsing XML file “/home.pi/.emulationstation/gamelists/retropie/gamelist.xml”. No document element found.*
The ROMs are mostly .7s files which I have un-compressed.
I have downloaded the PSX Bios that are recommended in other posts on these forums and also have these installed on the Retro Pie.
Thanks!

Please add some info about your setup, as detailed in in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

For PS1 games,
.7z
is not a supported archive type. Look here for the supported file types. -
@mitu hi, thanks for coming back to me. Sorry I should have clarified, I’m only running PS2 and PS3 ROMs

Please provide the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. If by 'RetroPIe 4' you mean 'Raspberry Pi 4', then this conversation is moot, since the Pi4 cannot run either system (PS2/PS3).

@mitu hi sorry yes I meant Raspberry Pi 4. I have since deleted all of the PS2 ROMs and replaced with PS1 ROMs in .chd format and I’m still getting the same error message about not being able to parse the data
