Splashscreens
-
Inspired by @lilbud, here's my attempt at a Q*bert splashscreen :
-
This one had to be done, I just found out that Club Penguin is shutting down. If you are not aware, Club Penguin was an MMORPG aimed at kids. You took the role of a penguin, which you could dress how you wanted, and play around in the virtual world. This was among the first video games I ever played, and I wanted to pay homage to this wonderful game
-
-
@lilbud what game is this?
-
@edmaul69 Supposed to be bionic commando
-
This one has been a long time comin', This one is based off the album cover of Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ by Bruce Springsteen. One of my favorites.
-
Couldn't resist to make this one:
First who tells what's based on gets an upvote ;-)
Easy... if you're old enough. -
@UDb23 Is this background that picture taken by an astronaut aboard Apollo 8?
-
@UDb23 Space: 1999
-
@meleu Yes, it's that famous picture. I just moved earth a bit to the right.
So your answer is correct but it's not THE answer... -
@Graboid You're the first ! Absolutely right.
I really liked that TV series as a kid.
-
3 new splashscreens, based off of the Gen 1 Pokemon starters.
-
@lilbud i used to collect them. I had the first 3 sets complete including the infamous charzard. I got one out of a pack and i bought one from a kid for 50 dollars that i gave my brother in law as a christmas present.
-
@edmaul69 I have/had maybe 10 cards. Never understood the card game.
-
@lilbud i never understood it either. I collected them as cards. I have a bunch of role playing, magic playing friends of mine but i just never could get into it.
-
I like what I see here !
What I would like to see more is a splash screen with instructions on how to use the controls inside retropie. Like that green screen already posted but maybe with different artworks.
I personnaly use the "Winners don't use drugs" logo for my splash screen :)
Thanks all !

@Nataq Like a picture of the controller
Like this?
-
Was thinking something like this : http://i.imgur.com/bfz4N2L.png
But thinking about it, it might not work for me since I use arcade buttons and no hotkeys :/
I will have to create a custom one for my unique controls I guess.
-
@Nataq What controller do you have?
-
It's an arcade cabinet. Here it is :
6 buttons per players. A is the first button from top row left and B the button on its right.
Select is the black button on the left of "player 1 start" and start is the player 1 start button.
Pause is the top left button and exit top right. Those are properly identified on the button themselves now. :)
Image doesnt seem to work. Its here : http://imgur.com/a/2sLUY
