Run Amiga games from EmulationStation using UAE4ALL possible?
-
Hello,
I've started playing around with Amiga games.
I was trying to make them run from Emulationstation and it works perfectly following the methods on the wiki.
But they run using the UAE4ARM emulator. I was wondering if it would be possible to load the games using UAE4ALL.
The wiki states this emulator has the better performance of the 2, so i would prefer running them using UAE4ALL but straight from Emulationstation.I know the basic principle is to pass the config file as a parameter to the UAE4ARM emulator. These are .uae files.
The UAE4ALL emulator also has these type of files, but they are.conf files.
I was wondering if the UAE4ALL emulator supports this , and if i could be able to edit the es_systems file to pass the .conf file as a parameter?
Or am i out of luck and is there no way to start the emulator using a certain .conf file?Kins regards and thanks for ant tips or info.

Hi!
Unfortunateley i have the exact same whish(problem) and could not yet find anything about it.
As a logical consequence of the UAE4ARM Guide, i already tried to get a config file saved for the UAE4ALL, but i had no luck.
Seems there are issues with saving an UAE4ALL config file.
That would be necessary to rework the UAE4ARM scripts to fit them to the UAE4ALL.
That's at least what i would try.I'll don't give up and let you know more when i have more info.
Could you maybe confirm that you also can't save a valid UAE4ALL config file?
That would bring us already 1 step further ;).(I tried that by creating a setup, saving it as a config file and tried to reload the file over the UAE4ALL but when i reload the file it already messes up the previous UAE4ALL Settings).
Cheers!

Hi,
I've got config files for UAE4ALL...
When you select a disk in the GUI and make some settings. There is a button "save config for this game".
It works. You can find these config files here : /opt/retropie/emulators/uae4all/conf/
These are .conf files. and when you open them with nano, are very text-readable...
There is no button on the GUI to load these files though... When you select the same disk file(s) (tried it with a single disk game) all the other config options you made before are loaded. My problem (or question) lies with the fact if it is possible to boot the UAE4ALL emulator with a config file as a parameter...
Kind regards.
