One controller to work on all consoles

Hi All,

I was wondering if it was possible to get controllers to work with all consoles. I have sucessfully set uo SNES stlye controllers and they work with SNES and Atari games. However they do not work with N64 games. I have tried configuring Playstation controllers but they dont work with any. It seems a pain to have to switch between controllers when you switch between consoles. Can I get one controller type to rule them all?

@Spamdan Any Xbox style will work. Two analog sticks, a d-pad, and plenty of other buttons will cover all your needs.

I had no issues with the PS3 (Sixaxis) or PS4 (Dualshock) controllers and they can cover the inputs for any console. Just like @Thorr69 mentioned, Xbox style controlls can also be used provide enough inputs.
