Theme development? Tips for bulk editing theme.xml files for each system.

I'm working on my first custom theme based on the Commodore 64. One thing I find daunting is trying to update every theme.xml file for each system. I built my theme on top of someone else's and so I have been able to do some bulk editing by finding identical patterns and doing a mass copy and replace, but I want to add some new content... like some metadata stats about each system. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for bulk editing a bunch of system theme.cfg files, or do you just have to work through each one, one at a time, and be patient?
