8bitdo SN30 Pro+ rumble stopped working after update on Pi4

How to replicate the problem: Run update and selected update OS filesI got rumble to work when I first set the Retropie a year ago by having both the 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ controller and the 8bit USB adapter set to X input. In the PSX retroarch settings I made sure to set the input type of "dualshock" and made sure the ruble setting is on. After running the update, the rumble no longer works.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the xpad driver. Disconnecting and connecting the USB adapter. The rumble does work. It vibrates when it pairs with the USB adapter. I confirmed both the controller and the USB adapter are at the latest firmware versions. Does anyone have any suggestions what else to try? I really don't want to start from scratch again.

I tested on my rumble enabled controller and it's not an emulator nor a driver issue - assuming you're using the
lr-pcsx-rearmedemulator.
Can you post a verbose log from the emulator on pastebin.com ? -
I found a solution. I had to pair the controller and the USB adapter again. I noticed I have to do this every time I boot up the Pi4.

@arroyjose then it sounds like an issue with the USB adapter rather than a RetroPie/Raspberry Pi problem.
