Vice/ C64 on Raspi 3B - how to get to settings with no keyboard?
-
Hi folks,
in the last past days I reactivated my pi3b and installed retropie on it.
I also have a collection of c64 roms and installed the vice emulator for this.I am using a wireless ps3-controller to play games.
I know that I have to change the vice-settings (machine settings) to play with the single controller. But I don't get into the vice-settings.
Instead of a keyboard, which is mentioned in most tutorials, I have the wireless ps3 controller and another wired ps3 controller connected to the pi.
In some tutorials I've read that I can get into the settings menu with hotkey & y (triangle) after I started a c64 game.
I tried every combination on my joypads but nothing happens. I even can't exit the game anymore so I have to unplug the pi to shutdown.
So is a keyboard really necessary? For comparison: I was also using vice on my ps3 and it is very easy to set up and get into the menu. I also get an overlay keyboard when im pressing the right analog stick. Are threre similar ways to to this on the pi?
Thanx in advance. -
Are you using the standalone Vice emulator (
vice
) or the Libretro core (lr-vice
) ? Only the latter has the gamepad combo available to get into the settings of the emulator. -
@mitu Okay - I see...I am using the "normal" vice, because it was often mentioned to use this one instead of the "lr".
So I will try this and will report
Thanxalot
