      Pi Model or other hardware: rpi 4
      Power Supply used: official power supply
      RetroPie Version: 4.8
      Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
      USB Devices connected: keyboard
      Controller used: snes
      Error messages received: none
      Verbose log (if relevant): na

      My buddy gave me his old rpi 4 with lcd screen and case. I created an image using Raspberry Pi Imager. There is selected my model and picked retropie. Everything installed correctly. I was able to connect to my wifi, I was able to run the latest updates and everything is running smoothly. When I loaded up for the first time I noticed that my lcd screen was upside down (i guess this is a known issue with the lcd screen.) I fixed that by adding the following command.

      lcd_rotate=2

      I saved and rebooted and the screen flipped and everything is working fine.

      My issue is I want to use the hdmi instead of the lcd screen so I can play on my tv. I can't seem to get the pi to use the hdmi port instead of the lcd. I wasn't able to find anything obvious in the raspi-config. I did try the following command but no luck.

      ignore_lcd=1

      Any help would be greatly appreciated.

            Try adding

            display_default_lcd=0
            ignore_lcd=1

            to config.txt and see if that makes a difference.

              @mitu

              I gave that a try and neither screen would boot up. On my monitor it was showing no input detected. I tried both hdmi ports as well. I was able to ssh into it with no problems so i know it booted up fully.
