      On your instructions page, it reads
      "NOTE: The Raspberry Pi OS 'bullseye' release is not yet supported by RetroPie. Manual installation should use the previous/legacy release of Raspberry Pi OS, available here."

      I am using an imager, and the recommended OS for PI 5 is Debian BookWorm with Pi Desktop 2024-11-19

        Yes, you can install it on Bookworm - the suport is still beta but it should mostly work.
