      totally confused...

      retropie no longer plays audio for lr-mame 2003 et al
      works under daphne (and batocera) so not a hardware issue

      i've spent hours reconfiguring various config files with 'help' from chatgpt.

      ulimately it keeps telling me the same thing... check alsa, update retroarch settings - with variations on the below (dont focus on those)

      driving me mad - one day it worked - next it didnt

      as said - batocera works and I've done a bog standard install to see what's up
      funnily enough it works, but it'll take me so long to get he system reconfigured to how it is now.

      audio_enable = "true"
      audio_driver = "alsa"
      audio_device = "default"
      audio_mute_enable = "false"
      audio_mixer_mute_enable = "false"
      audio_volume = "1.000000"
      audio_latency = "32"
      audio_resampler = "sinc"

            @dom_moir Not really. You didn't even added the RetroPie version - the info you provided is present on any Pi3 and it's not specific to your setup.
