      I have my retropie set up to run kodi on startup and then when I "quit" kodi, it reverts back to emulation station.

      I've just noticed that all of my roms across all platforms consistently have their play counts and last played data reset.

      Any ideas how I can stop this from happening ?

        @sphirst

        Make sure that “save metadata on exit” is set to "on" in Emulation Station's "other Settings" menu.

          I have this set to on. This suggests that it requires me to always "exit" emulationstation - instead I often switch to kodi and close the whole pi down from there.

            @sphirst That's why it isn't recording it then dude. I had a similar issue when editing some metadata on a couple of roms. Came back and my changes had reverted. A clean exit from emulationstation resolved it though.
