Various issues on a new Retropie

@mitu my snes 30 is detected as a Xbox controller I don't really know why it does that. I haven't downloaded the Xbox driver but I can try... As I said yesterday the Pi immediately crashed when booting up the system. And indeed there is no error message that's why I am totally lost... I have tried to change the theme back to carbon to no avail unfortunately

How are you trying to do that, exactly ? Changing it from the EmulationStation menu and then rebooting cleanly should save the configuration (w.r.t. the theme selected) and EmulationStation should start with the new chosen theme automatically.

@mitu that's what I am doing. I have reverted back to Carbon through this method but it doesn't fix the crashes at boot

Well, yes - I don't think ES would crash because of that.
Can you run the following command after it crashes on boot, but before you reboot the Pi, and post the output:
/opt/retropie/supplementary/emulationstation/emulationstation --debug
-
@mitu it says No such file or directory when I type this command line
-
@Skum1988 Make sure you properly type the path to
emulationstation
, it should be there. Did you install theemulationstation-dev
packagee ? If so, then the path is slightly different (/opt/retropie/supplementary/emulationstation-dev/emulationstation
instead).
