Hi everyone, built my first RetroPie last night and it's awesome so far! I have having trouble with my Commodore 64 games though. I have created a c64 folder and put a few d64/t64 files in there, but there doesn't seem to be another system in the retropie menu when it boots.

I looked through the wiki and there doesn't seem to be a bios or anything i need to install, so I suppose my question is how am I supposed to load VICE and get access to these games? I am very new to this so if it's a dumb question I apologize.

      Thanks in advance!

      Pi Model: 3 B
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.0.2
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
      USB Devices connected: keyboard
      Controller used:buffalo snes controller
Error messages received: games not showing up
Guide used: I couldn't find answers here https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Commodore-64
      File: *.d64, *.t64
      Emulator: VICE
Attachment of config files: not sure which to attach
      How to replicate the problem:

        @Dasian

You say that you had to create the folder, which makes me think you might not have actually installed the emulator. Once installed, the folder is created for you. If this is the case, installation instructions can be found here.

Well that did it! Thanks! I thought for some reason that everything was setup by default

              Hello,
I'm new to this forum and I had the raspberry pi 3/b just recently. I also have the same problem, so I just write what I did and what and why I tried to do...
So first there was no c64 emu installed, I installed it from binary, took a couple of minutes, I copied some d64s t64s and even zips to a vice folder (as the emulator is vice I thought it should be in a vice directory...) of course nothing changed, I found out it supposed to be in c64 folder so I renamed the folder, so no, I don't know if there was a preexisting c64 folder. I also tried to install c64 emu from source... I may hit accidentally update the whole world as it took at least an hour, I don't know it was late, I just fell asleep. :) But still nothing happened. A colleague of mine told me about file attributes, as my 64 files had an asterisk (*) character in front of them, I managed to change that, but naturally nothing happened again.
So even the emulator has to be turned on somehow, or the c64 files even corrupted, or it's some file system thing... don't know. The setup says the c64 emu is installed, tho I know if there are no roms in a folder, the emulator won't appear in the selection menu.
What I haven't tried as I didn't see it in the setup menus, is to set the vice emu to default c64... tho I think it still should work, but who knows.
I see it's an old thread, does it mean that you guys found solution for this problem? I haven't tried out anything other optional emus, but I installed dos and scumm too... there are problems with those?
              Thanks!
