      Hello everyone,

Try not to hang me too quick as I'm really interested by this question and didn't found much anwers online.

I a m currently running 3.6 on my pi2 (started a year ago with 2.3), and I discovered how fun it was to build a custom emulation console. The thing is, i'd like to try out retropie 4 as it integrates dolphin, so I need to buy a pi3.

When it comes to emulation, computing power is pretty much important and I found some alternatives to the pi3, like Up Board which is way more powerful (I know it's not the same price so it can't be compared to the pi).

Shall I try retropie 4 on Up Board ? Is this possible regarding the intel atom x5 and other hardware specifications ?

you can't play dolphin on a pi3, by the way. it's only available when retropie is installed on x86 systems (eg, a PC). i think this answers your second question, also.

          Thanks for your reply.

I read too quick about the 4.0.2 dolphin annoucement, "Only available for those running RetroPie on a x86/x86_64 machine)".

So if i get it right, yes retropie supports non raspberry stuffs. (weird that at the hardware page, only raspberries are recommended ?)

What do you think of this idea to get dolphin running on atom quad core 1.96 GHz ?

For better or worse, you'd see performance in this range...

            RetroPie v4.5 • RPi3 Model B • 5.1V 2.5A PSU • 16GB SanDisk microSD • 512GB External Drive
