I can't seem to get my classic wii controller to connect to my pi 3. I have tried several tutorials but no luck. I am running retropie on berryboot. If I boot the Jessie I can connect to the bluetooth. When I boot into retropie it never connects. I tried scanning for it but it never detects the controller. I am running version 3.6. Do the newer versions have any added support for the wii controller? Are there any good tutorials for this process that are newer? Thanks for any help you can give. I do have my xbox controller connected but would like to use the wii controller for nes.

Well I upgraded to the newest retropie and can connect the controller. My issue now is that when I try to configure the buttons it shows up as a keyboard and not all of the buttons work.

After upgrading to 4.02 I'm still not able to get the wii controller working. I then decided to try the following guide but still no luck.

I can get the controller to connect but the only buttons that work are the directional pad and it thinks it's a keyboard. I'm out of options and hoping someone knows how to get this to work.

I have gotten a little farther. I have the controller connected to the pi and I am now able to get the controller configuration to work properly with emulation station. I followed the guide here:

                    http://www.retro-programming.de/retro-welt-2/hardware/raspberry-pi-als-emulator-retropie/retropie-controller-einrichten/retropie-bluetooth-controller/retropie-wiimote-bluetooth/

It's in German but the commands and stuff needed are english. My issue now is when I go to play a nes game the controller doesn't work for the emulator. I am hoping it's somewhere within retroarch on how to fix.

This one can be marked as solved. I unplugged my wireless xbox receiver and the controller started working. I guess even though the xbox controller wasn't on just having the receiever plugged in cause it to choose that controller first and blocked the wii controller.
