      I have a question about saving the settings in Retroarch.

      I select a game emulator and enter (eg SNES).

      After entering in the game, I press "SELECT + X" to access the Retroarch menu.

      I change the options I want (eg. apect ratio, shaders, turbo button, etc.).

      Then I go back to home screen menu and click "Save Current Config" and then "Quit Retroarch".

      But after I do that the configuration is simply not recorded. The only way I write, after changing what I want, is going to "Settings> Configuration" and putting "ON" in the "Save Configuration On Exit" option, then I'll usually "Quit Retroarch" and thus the settings are saved correctly.

      The problem is that if I come again in Retroarch menu and deselect this option and put back "OFF" on "Save Configuration On Exit" and then "Quit Retroarch", this option simply DOES NOT return never to its original state "OFF". It is eternally "ON". I want to go back to "OFF" to avoid overwriting any unduly configuration.

      So my questions are:

      1 - How do I return to OFF the "Save Configuration On Exit" option?

      2 - Or how do I save the changes in Retroarch without having to put ON this option?

      I thank you help!

      Att .;

      Rafael

        Try making these changes using the configuration editor:

        Please read the Docs before asking a new question.

          @rafaelramos using config_save_on_exit in RetroPie is a little confusing for the newcomers. Maybe this post can clarify something for you:
