Config file creation

If I delete a config file from say
\retropie\configs\from_retropie\configs\all\retroarch.cfgWill it be recreated by RetroPie?
Thanks,

@battlecat if you reinstall retroarch from retropie-setup, then yes.

ahh okay. So it isn't like the MAME ini files when you delete them they come back.

Hey there! :) Thanks for the response.
I noticed that on the WIKI there is this page: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/MAME
Which has this note about config files. Does this mean that if I need to reset the retroarch.cfg it too will reset to defaults if I remove it?
Note: Should your input configuration or other aspect of the RGUI configuration need resetting to defaults, remove the default.cfg or ROM specific .cfg file, and it will be re-created with default values next time you start Mame4all or modify the ROM configuration.
Thanks,

Correct, its not like MAME where the files will just be re-created. As meleu says, you would need to re-install RetroArch - or just put the default file back.

Your original post is about
...configs/all/retroarch.cfg
. If you delete it, RetroArch won't create a new one for you.If you don't believe me, you can test it and see. :D Rename retroarch.cfg to a different name and execute the emulator you want. Then look at your
...configs/all/
directory to see if there's a new retroarch.cfg there.Be aware that if you delete/rename the retroarch.cfg, the RetroArch will use its own defaults (what is default in its source code), but not the RetroPie defaults. Do you get what I mean?
When you reinstall RetroArch, like I suggested in my first response, you get a brand new retroarch.cfg with some presets made for RetroPie using.
