I bought a usb controller which has the same layout as a snes controller

It works for all games I believe (snes and n64) but does not for sega32x (genesis) and I get the message "gamepad not configured)

I have tried going to the retro arch settings and changing the input joypad setting to udev etc but with no luck

I have also removed the configured that I setup originally, when first loading emulationstation and reset it with the same result

Any help would be much appreciated

      Thanks

      Mike

@xlebrm you need to delete the retroarch.cfg for the messed up systems (ie: /opt/retropie/configs/sega32x/retroarch.cfg. Then go into retroarch settings. Then choose update retropie-setup. After that while in there go to manage packages then choose main packages. Then choose an emulator for that system to update. (Ie: lr-picodrive is one of them for sega systems. But delete all your sega retroarch.cfg's first so you only have to install the emulator once.)

I think you mean "RetroPie menu" instead of "retroarch settings". Am I right?

delete all your sega retroarch.cfg's first so you only have to install the emulator once.)

There's no need to do it. If there's an existent retroarch.cfg, the [re]installation process creates a file named retroarch.cfg.rp-dist and doesn't touch the your retroarch.cfg. ;-)

@meleu yeah. I call the retropie menu "settings" because the carbon had a gear logo on it and i named it settings in my theme.
