New Theme: Striation (Preview)

Hi all! I've mostly stuck to the RetroPie subreddit since I got my Pi 3 last month. But since I've now created something that people might like to use I wanted to share it here as well. It's a new theme based largely on Eudora with an overall dark look and striped backgrounds to represent each console.

I put a lot more detail and info into the imgur gallery if you want to take an in-depth look. I'd appreciate any feedback or comments, this is my first theme and I've only been playing around with customizations for a couple of weeks now.

I looked over the gallery. Very nice work.

I like how the fonts appear to be nice and readable even when there is a mass of text on screen.

I like how there is no focus on massive graphics and more about simplicity.

@ShawnS: I really like it. I especially like the different layouts for the different box-art shape. I've been meaning to do that with mine but it takes up time I could put towards other aspects of the theme (I focused on making my Io theme work for smaller screens and I'm currently working on Grid View).

@ShawnS this is possibly my favorite theme i have seen. i love everything about the 70's so you had me at stripes. especially the woody. :) i could never use it for a detailed view because i have too many systems on a pi, but it is simple but cool. my theme im making, not so simple...

@mattrixk Thanks! I had seen your theme when I was looking for where to post mine and I love the tones and the way you made all the console logos a uniform color. It looks great!

What's Grid View though?

@edmaul69 I guess stripes were a 70's thing now that you mention it, I definitely didn't do that on purpose but I'm glad you like the look of it too. Is it detailed view that bogs things down? I may run into problems trying to test 59 platforms then. haha

Have you shown off your theme anywhere yet? I'd love to take a peek.

@ShawnS the raspberry pi (not pc) loads the everything into the ram. And there isnt much ram. So every pic used gets loaded into it. If you exceed the ram amount you will boot to a white screen. If i try booting it with all the pics from 40 + systems i would have a problem. Plus the scraper is retarded so i would have to go through it manually and that's just way too much to go through.

What's Grid View though?

Grid View is an EmulationStation Mod that is being made by @jacobfk20. You can read about it here and here.

It's still a work in progress, but it's looking very promising, and once finished I wouldn't be surprised if it was added to the RetroPie core installation.

@mattrixk why did I have to ask!? Ahhh, Grid View looks fantastic! haha I think I'll stick with regular ES for myself until it's more finished or folded into the official version. Thanks for the links!
