      Pi Model: 2
      RetroPie Version Used: 3.8.1
      USB Devices connected: 2-player Xin-Mo and two iBuffalo USB controllers

      Hey everyone! I wanted to make sure I treat my Pi nicely. My concern is that the Pi will get too hot and become damaged.

      • I am NOT overclocking it
      • I have a heat synch on the chip
      • I have the pi in a plastic case
      • It is inside a bar-top arcade cabinet
      • The only other two main sources of heat are the 21" LED display and the power blocks for all the power plugs
      • The back of my cabinet has about 30 dime size ventilation holes.

      I have not received any overheating indicators from my monitor yet. The most processing the pi does is Lr-Mame2003 with shaders and overlays. I also like to leave the pi running throughout the day like a normal arcade cabinet.

      Any thoughts or advice? Will the Pi handle this environment fine?

        At minimum I would add a fan to the cabinet. There are plenty of silent DC fans to choose from. Also, I would remove the pi from the plastic case and mount it directly to the inside of the cabinet. After these steps I would overclock the pi 2, since it has some room to expand in that department.

          @Lyle_JP

          If anyone has a recommended DC fan that would be awesome. Would I just directly plug that into the power strip?

          What are the advantages of overclocking the Pi 2? Where exactly would I do that?

          Thanks!

            Overclocking will give you more stability on games that may currently be "borderline" for you.

            EDIT: Sorry about previous post. That was better advice for a Pi 1. Use the settings for pi2. They're good and safe.
