so, I have been thinking of building a multiplayer based build. I have some old laptop monitors laying around that I can get a controller for pretty easily, so that is not a problem. My main thing is: can I have two different OS's that I can swap between? my girlfriend likes to play browser games, so I think I would like for her to be able to play them using chromium, but when gaming I would want to be able to use retro pie. i think I saw a microsd to Game boy cartridge converter thing on you-tube, but I did not save it. is that a thing? that way I could easily swap os's to allow for different uses. I have a simple mock up that I did to get an idea of the physical look and feel of the thing. any advice or ideas would be appreciated. here is the link

About the build. I want to use wood as I know quite a bit about woodworking and I have no desire to learn 3d printing. over the wood would be black or red velvet to hid scraches.

(note, the placement of ports on the back is just for reference. I would use whatever config was already on the pi.)

That computer in a briefcase thing looks like something out of a mid 80's spy movie. I like the idea. As for a way to easily swap between operating systems, you could either leave the sd card slot exposed to swap cards. It is possible to dual boot the pie, but I've only been using my pi for a week and don't know how to do it.

I like your concept pictures. Which other OS do you need? You can quit emulationstation and start Raspbarian GUI from the command line. Not sure chromium is supported any more though If you could find a browser you are happy with that would be a simple option.

Well take a look at my latest build. You just have to connect one Bluetooth stick and can buy two controllers. The build provides good portability and does not cost so much.

Anyway your design idea looks great but for what do you need annother OS? RetroPie is based an Raspian and you can install a GUI :)
