I grew up in Asia, so I was playing Japan version of NES - FC ( Family Computer) back then. Here is my FC, made from a used wood kitchen butter board.

      Back:

An oled screen is used to display game info and system info (when idle, for SSH)

This is where all things started:

      Hope you like it!

Very fun! I really like the status screen. What does the red LED on the front indicate?

Wow, really unique! Great artwork! I like the added hanging cord on the back! You should just hang this on the wall behind the TV like I beautiful work of art :) The only thing I would add would be some Japanese letters that said something related to this project. How do you say RetroPie in Japanese haha?

The plan is to light up the red led when any game is played, but I haven't got time to wire it yet.

You read my mind @backstander . I actually used two of my wife's butter board. The other one is designed and painted to Nes contra theme. Here it is:
                  0_1474931788341_image.jpeg

So they can be placed together like any wood carving piece:

Except the nes one can play real games :)
