      Like I wrote in the title, I have a weird rainbow square, permanently appearing in the top right corner of my screen. Just upgraded from a Pi1 to a Pi3 and this is new. It's there from the very moment the pi boots up through all the gaming and the like.

      Anyone know what it means?

        @trantornator means you need a 2.5A power supply.

          Thanks! Will it in anyway damage the pi if I run it for a while without the 2.5A?

            @trantornator I don't think so, there may be a chance for SD corruption maybe but idk.

              It should be ok then until I can get a new power supply on Monday. Thanks!

                You can switch it of by adding

                avoid_warnings=1 in /boot/config.txt.

                  I wouldn't recommend disabling the warning though

                    hey look the Oil Pressure Warning and Engine Coolant Temperature Indicators are blinking red!

                    ahh, no worries they always do that, just turn em off.

                      You can buy special black tape to put over the warning lights in you car. I don't think that would work as well on your monitor. :-)
