    Freshly built PI Zero..plays NES and SNES fine so far. However Sega is slow and laggy to play.

      Im new to PI's but not too green with emulators. I built this off using these instructions https://howchoo.com/g/mti0oge5nzk/pi-cart-a-raspberry-pi-retro-gaming-rig-in-an-nes-cartridge

      Im using the 4.0 Retropi image and whatever Emulators came bundled with it. So far all of the NES games and SNES ive tried play perfectly. I've tried a few Sega games (Sonic mostly) and it plays but it is slow and kinda ruins it.

      I unplugged my USB Hub and did a direct connection with my USB SNES controller but its still acting the same way. My power supply was this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/141518809160?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
      Output -- 5V, 2000mA max

      Im gonna look around the office to see if anyone has anything else for power supplies I can try out. I see in the Retro PI's menu I cannot overclock it but is that even a fix for this or is it a bandaid?

      Any advice is greatly appreciated as I love me some Sega games.

          Okay sorry about that...im trying to find two pieces of info heres what I have so far-

          Pi Model: Zero
          RetroPie Version Used: 4.0.2
          Built From: Pre made image :https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/releases/download/4.0.2/retropie-4.0.2-rpi1_zero.img.gz
          USB Devices connected:USB 4 Port Amazon hub
          Controller used:USB SNES
          Error messages received:None
          Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant): Do I need this?

          File: Any rom in the Sega Rom folder
          Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable) Not sure which one im using?
          Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS) Where are the config files located?
          How to replicate the problem: Playing any Sega Rom

            Not sure what the "Sega rom folder is" Do you mean Megadrive / Genesis or Mastersystem or Sega 32x or a sega game on another platform ?

              Seems to be two possible errors.

              1. Use annother emulator ... For MegaDrive/Genesis (and Master System?) - lr-picodrive is the better choice
              2. Don't overclock your Pi Zero, even if it is close to a Pi1 - you slow your system down!

                So you guys helped me fixed right off the bat.

                I had no clue that triggering it to create a log while launching a game would show a menu to change emulators.

                I was using 'lr-genesis-plus-gx'
                Switching to 'lr-genesis-plus-gx' seems to have solved the issue.

                Everything plays much smoother for Genesis games now

                  I am having the same issue and went to LR-Picodrive but still the same issues ( on raspberry pi 3b )
                  NES and SNES working fine.

                  graphic glitches (hanging textures and few hanging frames etc etc etc . )
                  Built on retropie 4.1 with raspberry pi 3b
