Configuration issue with blood on DOSBox
-
Hi everybody!
I installed RetroPie on my raspberry 2 model B v1.1. Not overclocked. Not yet ;-)
Most stuff is working great with dosbox, but I have issues with games like blood or redneck rampage...
They are lagging and nothing helps. At the begining, when I launched blood, there was a message:
"14 MB Memory Used
LOW MEMORY WARNING: Blood requires 23mb of free memory
You may experience problems when running Blood with low memory"So I edited the DOSBox configuration file to set memsize=16 to memsize=32, then to 64, then to 128.
Also tried different machines (hercules, svga_et4000, vgaonly) and different CPU types (pentium_slow, 486_slow, 386_perfetch) with cycles set to "max", but nothing helps. Is there something I'm missing or is the PI 2 not powerful enough??
Thanks in advance. -
I forgot: the installed RetroPie is v4.0.2

Today I tried Blood on DOSBox with my very old PC: Athlon 2600+ with windows XP and it's working fine on it. No lags at all.
I guess the problem does not come from a lack of power of the PI2...

an Athlon 2600+ is significantly faster than dosbox on the rpi.

Thanks for the info.
So the PI2 might not be fast enough for such games on DOSBox. Too bad.
