@naddel81 not that I'm aware of but maybe someone else out there has a way to do it.

        @naddel81 no.

But you can do it manually with images you have yourself. They pull from the same database anyways so its possible thegamesdb just doesn't have info on those games.

problem is: the http://thegamesdb.net/ has the info, but lists "super mario world" as "brutal mario" or something else. I would like to fix that using the built-in scraper. and best would be to control it using PC (cause keyboard on pi is not my first choice).

I'd recommend you to disable thegamesdb and enable screenscraper as source.

thanks, but I do not intend on rescraping everything again. I just want to scrape some games manually.

Why not? Did it take too long?

because it will certainly not find other games that gamesdb found.
I already tried to edit the data on the EmulationStation, but even Mega Man 4 or Wario Land 2 are not found! And those games ARE on the db for sure!

hey, I'm just trying to help! you could make "the first round" with ss and the second appending games with tgdb. the quality of ss (data and media) is far superior that tgdb.

sorry, but even replacing the png files within "downloaded images" to another one does not change the outcome in EmulationStation after a restart. why is that?

I would really like to give the new scraper from stephen a go, but I don't know how to replace the old one? simply drag and overwrite the old scraper file?

you must stop ES before modifying the gamelists.

managed to use SS now, but still "ERR: error processing gb/Mega Man 4.gb: hash not found"
and super mario world is still "brutal mario". how is that? I thought I had changed the source by using scraper -use_gdb=false -use_ss=true

Brutal Mario is a Super Mario World hack and not the original game. Sound like you have the wrong ROM. Try downloading a different version of SMW.

I definitely have the original (normal) mario world. but it is recognized as brutal mario.

sonic 2, mega man 4... all basic games where no scrap data is found?!

@naddel81 you might need to go into EmulationStation and press the Select button when Brutal Mario is highlighted and delete the current metadata for that game and then restart to make sure it remember the deletion. If so, then run your scraper on it again.

Also if that doesn't work, I'd still recommend downloading different ROMs from a different site if you can (including the Sonic 2 and MM4) to make sure you didn't get some weird variant of those games.

Look inside the gamelist for the game id. Most likely that data is coming from OVGDB, as there isn't a "Brutal Mario" in SS.

last scrape I did was using this command here: "scraper -use_gdb=false -use_ss=true"

I thought that would scrape all the games using another source?

are the games not scraped by their name when I scrape them manually and edit metadata?
