As title states, have a Raspberry Pi rev. 3, that I configured with retropie and have used for just over 6 months now.

I hadn't used it in a few weeks, so I plugged it into the TV, booted fine, started playing some Super Nintendo ROMS for an hour or two.

Plugged in an USB keyboard to tinker with Kodi, rebooted the Pi, and suddenly I was greeted with "Illegal Instruction" errors on boot. I noticed the ES splash would flash for a brief second, and then return to the command line, blinking cursor.
The only thing I can even remotely think the crashing is related to, is something with the keyboard didn't properly configure or install..
Now I cannot access ES no matter what. I've tried manually running the ES command via SSH and locally on the Pi. I've tried updating the setup scripts/etc., per recommendations on other forums, to no avail.
Is it possible that the sd is corrupt due to a bad power cycle or something along those lines, and if so how can I even check?
I've been searching high and low for an ES error log, but cannot find one.
My file system is also barely 40% utilized, so I know it's not full.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
