      Pi Model: 3
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.1
      Built From: RetroPie Premade image
USB Devices connected: Memory stick, Control pad
      Controller used: Generic USB

I remade my RetroPie install using the new 4.1 image all has been good (and so easy!) but I am having issues once I get into the RetroArch menu. I can get in there (pressing SELECT+X), change settings etc, but I can't get back out again. I press SELECT+X to get out but it comes up with a little popup saying "No information is available" and doesn't exit. The only way is to go back all the way to the root menu, then go quick menu and resume from there. It isn't a huge issue, but time consuming when playing with shaders etc :)

I've noticed this as well - what emulator/system were you using? I first saw this in the default Nintendo 64 emulator where my Select+Start hotkeys to exit the game weren't working anymore. Turned out the stock emulator in RetroPie 4.1 was changed to a non-libreto core (which I read the default hotkeys we're used to don't work in). I since changed the default N64 emulator to a libreto version since I commonly don't have a keyboard hooked up to press "ESC" on to exit the game.

Using Ports with games like Doom, in RetroPie 4.1, I likewise can't exit out of the game anymore. It seems to go straight into a green and white (slightly checkered background) RetroArch menu that I'm stuck in (which tip if this is happening to anybody else: go to the joypad mapper, and from there for some reason you can hit Select+Start to exit Doom).

I've installed RetroPie on a Linux x86 on Dec-15-2016 and noticed that the hotkeys to exit emulator/menu are working like before.

Maybe if you update RetroArch from source it'll work for you guys too. ;-)

              Cheers.
