Lr-mame2003 trackball stops working at random times

Hey everyone. I need help in a bad way. I had a problem with my trackball not working in games, then I thought I had it solved by using mame2003 instead of mame4all.... Well now I boot into EmulationStation / lr-mame2003. The trackball works great for about 10 minutes or so then suddenly stops working. All other buttons and joysticks work fine except the trackball. If I reboot, all works agian for 2 to10 minutes or so, then stops agian. :( ... Thanks for any help you can provide.
