Displaying Games or Hardware as Art?
-
When I was figuring out my Super Famicom build, before I decided to put a screen in a cartridge my original plan was to just have a Super Mario World game plugged in, but doing nothing. Since I spent $15 on the game, I was thinking about displaying it in a shadow box, maybe with some other games. Do you display any gaming "stuff" as art?

@obsidianspider I'm a big fan of having all my games run on one platform to keep things tidy and avoid clutter. I'm also fascinated by emulators so it fits perfectly for me. If I were to spend the money I often thought about having a display case with all the mainstream consoles and some games on display for myself and company to enjoy, but it would be a large investment so it has remained a pipe dream for me. I would like to display consoles from the Atari 2600 all the way through to the original Playstation and Saturn. Maybe if I get rich lol. I guess if I were to do that it would be kind of an artistic way to display games.

I sort of.., atleast I try to have a couple of items on display here & there related to my hobbies..
lookin around my living room right now; A Zelda-poster, my old Zombies game cover & some books on display.. -
Whilst doing my GBZ build I ended up with some part i either won't use or are of no use to anyone.
)
So I came up with this :)

I like subtle, so opted for a couple of framed Jap box arts: was hoping to get F:Zero as a third but the seller let me down, and now the room no longer exists: but these looked good against a white wall:
I've seen the Artcade and Famicom box art books before too, would like to see them on my bookshelf eventually...
Since the decommissioning of my boys room, I've seen a few of these: Super Mario World is one of my favourite all-round games of all time, so I'd love this, but I have seen equally excellently-executed versions of the map from Zelda: A Link to the Past. Lots of time invested in these, would look great in the right setting.
