So, I wanted a stable OS which was a cross between Debian and general PC OS, so I chose Ubuntu Mate 15.10. I was not let down by the choice, but I couldn't install RetroPie like on Raspbian. I don't want to configure Berryboot, as it might crash and it takes a lot of storage space for that solution. So I tried the RetroPie Setup Script. It didn't work, saying the version was Debian Sid. So, I wanted the RetroPie Setup Script adapted for Ubuntu Mate for Raspberry Pi 2 and 3. So, I was wondering if someone with better computer knowledge than me, could accomplish this feat, link it on the official website please?

@matteopiomuscat did you look at this guide?

        https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/RetroPie-Ubuntu-15.10-x86-Flavor

I installed RetroPie on Linux mint mate with no problems.

I believe they are trying to run it on Ubuntu Mate on the RPI, which is technically unsupported (and would be source only). I've not tried it so not sure what will work - depends if they provide the same packages as raspbian etc. Likely does need code changes.

at least please provide whatever is displayed when you try and run it, and I could see if I can make the script do a bit better (although I really don' t recommend running it on a os/hardware combination we will not have time to test on etc)

Dear BuZz, I am getting the error code

                Unsupported OS - /etc/debian_version stretch/sid

when I am running these commands after the download

                cd RetroPie-Setup
                chmod +x retropie_setup.sh
                sudo ./retropie_setup.sh

@matteopiomuscat ok thanks. please update retropie-setup (git pull) and try again - note that many things may still not work even if it lets you run it now, and it will be source only.
