OUYA controller setup issue

I have read the wiki about setting up the controller however I am running into an issue not listed. When I start pairing it ask to use pin 0000 or create my own pin. No matter what I do I can't seem to get past this point. I have tried may defferent button inputs and tried my own pin even with no entry but that give an error saying I have to use a pin.
