PC-FX - lr-beetle-pcfx - anyone get it to work?

I have installed the Experimental emulator for NEC PC-FX. I have the appropriate bios. but I cannot get a game to load. I have tried 2 games, but I haven't see a compatibility list, so I'm not sure if I am trying games that should work.
Kishin Douji Zenki FX Vajura Fight -and- Tyoushin Heiki Zeroigar (both are BIN & CUE files)
I have seen on several site discussing what the bios name should be. pcfx.bin, pcfx.bios or pcfx.rom. I tried each and it didn't work. I also copied the file 3 times and put all 3 named files in the bios directory.
any questions that I can provide additional information, please let me know.
I have only had issues with 2 emulators since I've been working with retropie in the last year. this one (PC-FX) and the Atari 5200, otherwise I have every single other one running.
Hardware: Raspberry Pi 3, 64GB Micro SD.
Retropie version: 4.0.3
Controller: Xbox One S (connected physically)
Downloaded and installed from Retropie image 4.0.3
