Bluetooth PS3 or PS4 Controller with RetroPie?
-
I have a Best Buy store credit that's been sitting around forever so I was thinking about using it to buy a PS3 or PS4 controller to use with one of my RetroPie setups. From what I've seen they both work, though the PS4 controller doesn't have a
Start
orSelect
button? (I guess you just mapShare
andOptions
?)The last Playstation controller I used was a Dualshock 2 on my Playstation 2, but I assume the PS3 controller is basically the same thing but wireless. Anyway, which controller do you prefer with RetroPie in terms of playability and ease of use? I don't want one that's a pain in the butt to set up or that I have to fiddle with every time I restart the Pi. -
Hi, I see this is an older post, but I wanted to say that I used the Dual Shock 4 on mine and it works great (wired and wireless).
I mapped share and options to start and select and it feels very natural. I don't get any lag over bluetooth either, so that's a bonus. The only issue is you cannot (as far as I know) control the lightbar, which will shine at full brightness. I covered mine up.

I wouldn't say that, i don't like dualshock3's dpad.
