How to replicate setup
-
I have a pi3b with retropie 3.8 and it runs a Star Wars PSX game without crashing (although it's laggy). I had to overclock or something to get it to work as it used to crash on the same install, but changing some settings allowed it to work.
I am trying to replicate this on retropie 4.1 on another pi3b but no matter what I do, it always crashes in the same place, exactly where it originally crashed on the 3.8 version.
What exactly would I have to copy from 3.8 to 4.1 to ensure that I have all of the settings that could affect PSX games on 4.1 so that I can get it to run correctly?
Thanks for any help,
Matalog.

@matalog if it was just the overclocking settings, you'd just have to copy the /boot/config.txt file.
But there might have been changes in the emulator (psx-rearmed) and that will be very difficult to transmit to the new build. But I'm wondering which Star Wars game you're having trouble with? For me, every psx-game I tested worked out-of-the-box perfecty smooth, even with neon enhanced grapics enabled.

@cortex91 This is the only PSX game I had any trouble with too!! It sometimes stalls or just throws you out of the game.
Please give it a go and let me know how it plays on your system.
It's Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles, and it crashes before I can get to pick up the first 2 powerups beside the droid by the door, in the hall of the first scene.
If you can get into the room with the computers, then it should be fine on your system.
I tried the /boot/config.txt file, and it hasn't helped. I tried copying the contents of the BIOS folder fro 3.8 to 4.1 and it didn't help.
Kind regards,
Matalog.

@matalog Alright, I think i can give it a go at the weekend.
I'll post my testings in here and let you know if it works.
