Possible 3.7 Bug?
-
One thing I've noticed with 3.7 that worked with 3.6 is the controller configurations. When I configure a new controller in Emulation Station, there isn't a config saved in the RetroArch folder, making it unusable for ROMS/Emulators.
This is workable by using manual/downloaded configs and putting them into the folder manually, I was just wondering if this is something other people are experiencing or if I'm missing a setting? I've tried two different USB controllers today and it's occurred both times. It also happened with a bluetooth controller.
-
I'm not experiencing it at all, and if a lot of people were, we would not hear the end of it.
When I configure in emulationstation with 3.7 it creates an appropriate entry in
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads
as well as/opt/retropie/configs/n64/InputAutoCfg.ini
as well as/opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_input.cfg
and others, I imagine. -
Weird, is there anything I might be missing that's making it not do that? It's making my ES config one just fine, but not my /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads one....

I really don't know. You haven't been messing with directory permissions or changing your username/group or anything like that, right?
-
@wetriner Not in the slightest, I know far too little about linux to mess around in there :)

Still having this issue. Anyone have any ideas what might be going on?

Please post the output of (making sure you format it correctly or via pastebin.com or similar)
cat ~/.emulationstation/es_input.cfg cat ~/.emulationstation/es_temporaryinput.cfg
and also the output of
/opt/retropie/supplementary/emulationstation/scripts/inputconfiguration.sh

@BuZz said in Possible 3.7 Bug?:
cat ~/.emulationstation/es_input.cfg
Of Course!
I don't have a es_temporary input (I have one marked old, but nothing apparently current) but my es_input config is below. When I run the input configuration script, nothing happens, my terminal just moves onto the next line. -
Please format your post as requested. http://commonmark.org/help/ or just remove the data since you provided a pastebin link - the idea is to not fill the forum with unreadable logs.

@BuZz Removed as requested

the es_temporaryinput.cfg should be created when configuring a controller in ES. Your problem is that at some point you have removed your es_input.cfg and it has lost an important "initial" config line that triggers the auto-configuration.
delete the es_input.cfg and re-install ES from binary from retropie-setup menu 5 which will put the config back.

@BuZz Reinstalling did it. Not sure when I removed the es_input.cfg but clearly I must've done! Thank you for your help.
