What do you use? EmulationStation or Attract Mode?
-
I've been toying around with both lately and can't really decide what I like more. They both have their pros and cons.
What's your preference between Emulation Station and Attract mode?
-
I use Emulation Station, but there is so much work being done on both fronts, I plan on reevaluating the situation in months to come. That being said, with just how close and personal ES is being tied to RetroPie at the moment from the various developers currently at work on amazing new features, I really see myself just staying put.

@ebtalk
I've used Floob's prebuilt Attract Mode before and I liked it better than ES but now I'm using the official RetroPie 4.1 image so I'm using ES only because the AM experimental build still needs some work. I'll probably give AM another try after a while when I have some more time to mess with it.I also agree with @mediamogul that ES is the officially supported and developed front end for RetroPie at the moment and that's why I continue to use it.

@ebtalk emulationstation runs fine on my raspi1. So I'm stick with it.
-
While AM is very "sexy". I've enjoyed the simplicity and metadata on the ES side.
The one thing I love about AM is the video previews it gives for games.

Are you aware that this feature was added to ES recently?
-
@meleu
No I was not. Have a direct link to the instructions? I can look into this later. -
@ebtalk You just need to update your emulationstation through retropie_setup script.
But you have to get the video previews somewhere and edit the gamelist.xml.I didn't test, but I think AttractMode do it automagically...
