I am trying to connect to my brother's RaspberryPi to fix his arcade configs for him (Xmas Present)... How do I do this? I tried typing in the IP address that his Pi shows, but I don't think that works. I want to just connect to it via WinSCP and replace his files with the backup I made at my house. Is this possible if he lives in another city?

@Dominus yeah it doesn't quite work that way. He likely will need to set up port forwarding and you'll need his external IP etc. Simplest solution may just be to use the chrome remote desktop to take over his computer and do it that way and then host your files on Google drive or something and he can download them locally to his PC. It is possible to do it directly but it requires a bit more extensive knowledge of networking. Chrome remote desktop has been the simplest option for me without all the networking wizardry.

@Dominus The IP address his Pi has will be the internal address supplied by his router and network and not a global address that you can connect to. There are ways of doing this, but it would be far too convoluted to setup to be worth it and would involve setting up a NAT rule on his router to translate his global address to his Pi's internal IP. You'd need to edit the routers settings and if you're going to do that, you'd need to know what you're doing.

If I were you, it copy your config files to somewhere like Google Drive or Dropbox and let him download and copy the files over himself. Much easier, and you don't need to mess with any router config.

Yeah I just did the remote desktop connection. I guess this now leads to another question.. He messed up his controls in Liberto-Mame2003, and now they he can't even get into the menu (Right Trigger) to get into the Mame Controls. I thought replacing all the configs under opt\retorpie\configs\ would fix it, but doesn't seem like it. I can't seem to find the Mame2003 controls that he adjusted. I replaced pretty much everything under that Configs menu to it's original/backup I have.

@Dominus Canceled that. I hope I figured it out. I guess Mame2003 configs are in the Roms folder in case anyone else gets there.

Thanks for all your help though guys!
