Basically, I just want to know which folder to put MAME ROMs in. I'm assuming mame4all is an emulator and mame-libretro is one too, and I should put a game in the folder for the emulator that it is most compatible with? What is the "arcade" folder for? I'm thinking it is for the MAME ROMs that aren't compatible with either of the other two.

If I have ROMs in all 3 folders, will it show 3 separate systems in ES?

Thanks for any clarification on this.

The arcade folder allows you to choose which emulator will launch which rom thus providing a means of getting a nice clean Arcade option in Emulationstation without multiple Mames appearing.....

Much more complicated than I thought! I should be able to figure it out using the links provided, but it won't be as easy as the other systems, that's for sure. Based on what I've read so far, I think I'll go the "Arcade" folder route.

            Thanks!

I'm a big fan of the arcade folder. I like keeping everything in one area
